Heel Spurs/Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain, often associated with heel spurs. It occurs when the plantar fascia—a band of tissue supporting the arch—becomes irritated and inflamed. Heel spurs, bony growths at the bottom of the heel, may develop as a result of chronic strain.
Symptoms include sharp, stabbing heel pain, particularly in the morning or after long periods of rest. Risk factors include flat feet, obesity, overuse, and improper footwear.
Treatment options include custom orthotics, stretching exercises, anti-inflammatory therapy, physical therapy, and in some cases, advanced treatments such as laser therapy or injections. Surgery is considered only if conservative methods fail.
By addressing both symptoms and root causes, we help patients achieve lasting relief and prevent recurrence of heel pain.
